Katie Ellington
Katie Ellington is excited to join Tomball West High School as an assistant coach for the girls’ basketball and softball programs. A proud graduate of Tomball High School, Coach Ellington lettered in both basketball and softball before continuing her athletic career at the NCAA Division I level, playing softball at Baylor University. After graduating with her B.S. in Psychology, Coach Ellington worked as a social worker through Communities in Schools, targeting behavioral needs in a middle school setting. Working in a school setting caused her to later pursue a career in teaching. This upcoming year will be Ellington’s second year teaching.
Coach Ellington brings extensive experience in player development, having spent many years giving private lessons and coaching select softball. She comes to Tomball West from Paetow High School in Katy ISD, where she taught English and coached softball. During her first year at Paetow, she helped lead the program to its first playoff appearance in school history and contributed to securing the school’s first-ever 6A playoff win.
Dedicated to setting The Gold Standard in both teaching and coaching, Coach Ellington is passionate about developing young athletes into winners both on and off the field. She looks forward to investing in her students, building strong relationships, and fostering a culture of excellence at Tomball West High School.
